More than just French tuition — I help students become confident French speakers.
Learning French can feel overwhelming. There are new words to remember, tricky grammar, different tenses and the pressure of getting the marks in an exam. My aim is to make French feel clearer, more manageable and much less daunting.
I’m an experienced French tutor who has been helping students improve their French since 2015. Over the years, I’ve worked with students of different ages and abilities, from younger learners through to GCSE students and adults.
I understand GCSE French
GCSE French isn’t simply about knowing lots of vocabulary. Students need to understand what examiners are looking for and know how to use their knowledge effectively.
I teach students how to:
- build accurate, impressive sentences
- use a wider range of vocabulary
- master the key tenses and grammar
- develop answers rather than giving basic responses
- tackle speaking, writing, reading and listening with greater confidence
- avoid the common mistakes that lose marks
- approach exams with a clear strategy
I focus on confidence as well as accuracy
A student can know plenty of French but still lack confidence when they have to speak or write independently.
That’s where I come in.
I break difficult concepts down into simple, achievable steps and encourage students to have a go without being afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes are part of learning — and confidence grows when students realise they can do more than they thought they could.
Lessons are tailored to the student
No two students are the same. Some need help with grammar. Others struggle to remember vocabulary, construct longer answers or understand what the question is really asking. Some simply need a confidence boost.
I adapt my lessons to the individual student rather than expecting everyone to learn in exactly the same way.
I genuinely care about progress
For me, tutoring isn’t just about getting through a syllabus.
I want students to leave a lesson thinking: “Actually, I can do this.”
Seeing a student go from “I’m rubbish at French” to confidently answering a question they previously found difficult is one of the best parts of my job.

I have been tutoring since 2015 and have developed a wealth of experience working with students with different abilities, personalities and learning needs.
I try to create a relaxed, friendly environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes and learn without feeling judged.
