What’s included in my GCSE French classes?
Weekly 1-Hour Live Classes
Consistency is key when it comes to learning a language.
Classes take place weekly via Microsoft Teams, giving students regular opportunities to practise, build their confidence and make steady progress throughout the year.
Every lesson is carefully planned to be engaging, interactive and focused on making real progress.
Small Groups — Maximum 6 Students
Small groups. More interaction. More individual attention.
Classes are limited to a maximum of six students, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to participate and receive individual support.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, contribute to discussions and practise their French actively rather than simply listening.
No hiding at the back!
GCSE Exam Focused
Everything students need to feel confident going into their GCSE exams.
Classes cover the key areas of the GCSE French curriculum, including:
- Vocabulary and key phrases
- Grammar and accurate language
- Speaking and oral exam preparation
- Listening skills and comprehension
- Reading skills and comprehension
- Writing skills and developing answers
Lessons are designed to help students not only know the French, but understand how to use it effectively in their GCSE exams.
Regular Progress & Parent Updates
You’ll know how your child is getting on.
I monitor students’ progress throughout the year and provide feedback to help them understand what they are doing well and where they can improve.
Parents are kept regularly updated on their child’s progress and are always welcome to get in touch if they have any questions or concerns.

There are real benefits to learning French as part of a small group.
Students learn from each other as well as from their tutor. They hear different answers, practise speaking with their peers and develop confidence using French in front of others.
The small-group environment provides the best of both worlds: the motivation and interaction of a group, combined with individual attention when it’s needed.
Weekly Homework
A little practice goes a long way.
A manageable amount of homework is set each week to reinforce the language and skills covered in class.
Homework may include vocabulary practice, grammar activities, reading, listening or short written tasks.
Feedback is provided where appropriate, helping students understand their mistakes and continue to improve.
A Minimum One-Term Commitment
Progress takes time — and consistency makes the difference.
Students enrol for a minimum of one term. I strongly encourage students to attend consistently over a full term wherever possible, as this allows enough time to build their knowledge, develop confidence and see meaningful progress across listening, reading, writing and speaking.
The aim isn’t simply to prepare students for one test. It’s to help them become genuinely more confident French learners.
